Overview

This ten day itinerary represents the ultimate bush and beach holiday, offering the perfect blend of high adrenaline wildlife viewing and tropical relaxation. The adventure begins with three intensive days in the world famous Maasai Mara National Reserve, tracking lions and leopards. You then travel to Lake Naivasha for a unique walking safari, followed by two days in Amboseli National Park beneath Mount Kilimanjaro. You then descend through the vast Tsavo wilderness towards the coast. The final three days are spent unwinding on the pristine, palm fringed white sands of Diani Beach, swimming in the warm waters of the Indian Ocean.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1
Nairobi to Maasai Mara National Reserve
You will depart Nairobi and drive down into the Great Rift Valley, continuing to the Maasai Mara. You will arrive in time for lunch and a brief rest. In the late afternoon, you will embark on your first exciting evening game drive, searching for the big cats as they begin to stir for the night.

Day 2
Full Day Safari Exploring the Maasai Mara
This entire day is dedicated to exploring the vast expanses of the Maasai Mara. You will carry a picnic lunch so you can maximize your time in the reserve. You will visit the Mara River to view hippos and crocodiles, and spend hours observing the complex interactions between predators and prey.

Day 3
Maasai Mara to Lake Naivasha
After a final morning game drive in the Mara, you will drive back through the Rift Valley towards Lake Naivasha. Upon arrival in the afternoon, you will take a boat ride on the freshwater lake to observe hippos, followed by a guided walking safari on Crescent Island.

Day 4
Lake Naivasha to Amboseli National Park
You will depart Naivasha after breakfast, drive back through Nairobi, and head south to Amboseli National Park. Arriving in time for lunch, you will have a brief rest before embarking on your afternoon game drive to marvel at the large herds of elephants moving through the swamps.

Day 5
Full Day Exploring Amboseli
You will wake up early for spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro. You will spend the day exploring the park diverse habitats. You will visit Observation Hill for panoramic views and seek out lions, cheetahs, and abundant birdlife.

Day 6
Amboseli to Tsavo West National Park
After breakfast, you will check out and drive towards Tsavo West National Park. The scenery changes dramatically as you enter this volcanic landscape. After lunch, you will visit Mzima Springs, a lush oasis producing millions of gallons of fresh water daily.

Day 7
Tsavo West to Diani Beach (Kenya Coast)
You will enjoy a morning game drive in Tsavo West before beginning the journey to the Kenya coast. You will drive through Tsavo East, arriving in Mombasa in the afternoon, where you will transfer to the pristine white sands of Diani Beach and check into your beach resort.

Day 8
Relaxation at Diani Beach
Today is entirely at your leisure. You can relax by the resort pool, walk along the endless stretches of white sand, swim in the warm Indian Ocean, or book an optional snorkeling trip to the Kisite Mpunguti Marine Park to swim with dolphins and sea turtles.

Day 9
Second Day of Coastal Leisure
Another full day to unwind and enjoy the tropical coastal environment. You might choose to explore the local Diani area, visit the Colobus Conservation center, or simply enjoy a spa treatment and cocktails watching the sunset over the ocean.

Day 10
Departure from Diani Beach
After a leisurely breakfast and a final swim in the ocean, you will check out of your resort. You will be transferred to the Ukunda airstrip or Mombasa Airport for your flight back to Nairobi or onward to your final destination, concluding your ultimate bush and beach holiday.
