About Lake Manyara National Park

Nestled at the base of the spectacular Great Rift Valley escarpment Lake Manyara offers a microcosm of the Tanzanian safari experience. The park transitions quickly from dense groundwater forests filled with baboons and blue monkeys to the alkaline lake shores dotted with pink flamingos. The park is most famous for its unique tree-climbing lions though spotting them requires a bit of luck. It is an excellent introduction to a northern circuit safari.
