About Tarangire National Park

Tarangire is defined by its sweeping landscapes dotted with majestic ancient baobab trees and the meandering Tarangire River. During the dry season the river becomes a lifeline attracting massive herds of elephants—often up to 300 strong—alongside large numbers of wildebeest zebra and predators. It is an exceptional birding destination boasting over 500 species and offers a quieter more exclusive alternative to the busier northern circuit parks.
